What We're Up To

We're constantly asking ourselves...

"What is God up to in our neighborhood?"

"Don't Miss The Pancake Supper This Year..."

By Catherine Katona and Abbigail Clissold

The St. Paul committee is hard at work preparing for the Lenten season at St. David's. The season will bring new opportunities to enhance your Lenten experience with your family, both at church and at home. The kick-off will be the traditional and ever popular Pancake Supper, with a few fun surprises. At the supper, families will be given small gifts to take home with them. The youth will also be on hand to educate those of us who wish to learn more about online gathering groups, Facebook and hashtags (for example, #stdavidsrocks).  Not to worry, all of the traditional in-person meeting groups will stay in place.  So please be sure to bring your cell phones and/or tablets to the pancake supper. Through all of this weaves Lent 2016 theme, which is GRATITUDE. Many psychology studies have shown that expressing gratitude every day can have a positive effect on one's happiness and even one's health. Gratitude derives from the Latin gratia, which can mean "grace," and it is through God's grace that we give thanks for this amazing church community and the opportunities for spiritual growth that it provides.
